Parks & Rec receives three regional awards for programming, marketing and young professionals

The City of Round Rock Department of Parks and Recreation received the Texas Recreation and Park Society (TRAPS) Lone Star Class Two Award for its Yonders Point Friday Fun Nights series of events and the Department Marketing Excellence Award. In addition, Kelly Gaydos, supervisor of the Allen R. Baca center, received the Young Professional Award.

The “Lone Star” award is given to the best new recreation programs for the first time in five population categories.

The Department’s Marketing Excellence Award recognizes the most outstanding promotional efforts of a parks, recreation and recreation agency for the previous year.

The Young Professional Award recognizes an outstanding young professional in the parks and recreation field who is committed to advancing the industry through leadership, professional achievement and volunteerism.

The department accepted the awards at the Texas Recreation & Park Society’s annual workshop and maintenance rodeo. Each year, TRAPS recognizes excellence throughout the state of Texas.
