Peppers Mercado offers ‘a bit of everything’, aims to be home to local music

CLARKSVILLE, TN (NOW CLARKSVILLE) – Peppers Mercado Restaurant & Bar offers a new venue for local artists.

Peppers, located at 1191 Fort Campbell Blvd., offers “a bit of everything,” according to owner Elizabeth Carrol. The location includes a taco shop, bar, pool tables, and vendor market.

Carrol said she started in the market, but when the unit next door became available, she decided to expand.

“I love the food. I make tacos, and everyone seems to love them and eat them,” owner Elizabeth Carrol told Clarksville Now.

“A Stage for the People”

Local musician John Perry handles Peppers’ booking alongside Caroll’s husband, Seth. He told Clarksville Now that he discovered Peppers on the Musicians of Clarksville Facebook group and was asked to play a show there.

“Seth was talking about wanting to start an open mic night and I said, ‘I want tacos; I’m going down. It was one of my favorite gigs that I’ve all played,” Perry said. “It was so welcoming and so wonderful.”

Seth Caroll added that Peppers aims to welcome local artists of all genres of music as well as other performances.

“The point is that this is our stage,” Carol added. “It’s our home, but it’s really a stage for people. We let anyone in – all genres, all styles, all things. …If you want to put your heart into something, we want to give you a spokesperson to do it.

Peppers is open daily from 7:30 a.m. Open mic nights are held every Thursday at 7 p.m. For a list of upcoming events, visit them on Facebook.
