Purple taps new chief marketing officer as former CMO leaves after 18 months

LEHI, Utah — Purple Innovation has named Keira Krausz as its new Chief Marketing Officer, the second person to hold the position in 18 months.

Krausz’s appointment takes effect November 1 and she succeeds Patrice Varni who joined Purple in May 2021. Varni left the direct-to-consumer mattress brand to pursue other interests, according to the company.

In his role, Krausz will report to Rob DeMartini, Managing Director, and oversee all aspects of Purple’s marketing efforts, playing a key role in supporting the company’s growth plans.

“Keira’s decades-long track record of successful marketing management will be a welcome addition to Purple,” DeMartini said. “As we continue to mature our marketing efforts, Keira will bring significant experience in advancing our marketing strategies to increase our revenue and profitability.”

Prior to joining Purple, Krausz was Director of Marketing for HealthPlanOne, a digital health delivery platform that helps people over 65 find health insurance. Previously, she was Director of Marketing at Nutrisystem, Inc., where her responsibilities included retail, direct-to-consumer omnichannel marketing, creative, site and app development, sales, and customer service. Additionally, Krausz has held leadership positions in the nutrition business unit of Tivity Health and Time Inc.

Purple agreed to grant Krausz a one-time capital bonus worth $400,000 based on the market price of the company’s Class A common stock from its start date.

“I am delighted to join the Purple team at this point in the company’s history,” said Krausz. “Purple has built a unique brand and has a fantastic legacy of innovative products and marketing. I look forward to helping Purple take the next step.
