ShopRite opens on site of demolished NJ mall

A ShopRite recently opened on the site of the old Wayne Hills Mall, which was demolished over two years ago.

The grocery store opened on October 31 and is located at 30 Wayne Hills Mall in Wayne. It is approximately 80,000 square feet.

A ShopRite that previously existed in Wayne at 625 Hamburg Turnpike closed permanently on October 30.

The new ShopRite in Wayne offers both traditional lanes and self-service checkouts, as well as gourmet cuisine, a Patsy’s Butcher meat section, wellness center, and a registered dietitian in the store.

There are currently over 250 ShopRite supermarkets spread across the east coast.

The Wayne store is operated by Inserra Supermarkets Inc., which is part of Wakefern Food Corp. Inserra operates approximately 25 ShopRite stores in New Jersey, and the Wayne store is now the largest.

“We are proud to celebrate the grand opening of the new Wayne Hills ShopRite, our largest supermarket to date,” said Larry Inserra, Jr., CEO of Inserra. “This new store demonstrates our continued commitment to the community and the family promise of providing incredible value, quality and service to our shoppers.”
